Arushi Case Solved Hindi “News” channels seen extinguishing torches and hiding pitchforks

For those not residents of India (the other 5/6th of the planet) first allow me to bring you up to speed.Everyone else jump to paragraph three.A while back in the city of Noida lived a Dentist ,his wife and his 15 year old daughter.One day the daughter is found with her throat slit and the man servant of the house is found with his skull smashed.Now this being a slow news day (we don`t really identify with Obama,Hillary or Britney Spears) the regional news channels picked this up and ran with it.

Sound bites were sought by the U.P. police who promptly put on their best make up and came up with stories that would be rejected by the National Enquirer.The News channels of course carried this as absolute truth and no one was really surprised when a week later the Father was arrested amidst stories of wife swapping,child abuse,and MMS clips of the girl and the murdered servant (apparently doctored clips).

Finally after the CBI (India`s equivalent to the FBI )being called in sanity emerged in the proceedings,by this time due to the half assedry and pure stupidity of the UP police valuable forensic evidence was lost,the crime scene had actually even been washed to remove blood stains and regular jaunts by T.V news crews had destroyed what little evidence remained.The CBI now resorted to Narco analysis ,lie detectors and profiling of suspects (none of which is admissible in court) and finally revealed to the world that the Doc didn`t do it.And that the Compounder (one of the people most vociferous in fabricating stories of wife swapping etc etc) was in fact the guilty one.

For those who wonder how the parents who were present in the same house when the murder occurred did not hear a sound the CBI explained thus,Arushi had a throat infection and doing a re enactment they realized that no sound could be heard in the parents room,my re enactment of the CBi re enactment is as below:

So what does this mean?will the media be more responsible in reporting?will Police be more through during investigations?hardly likely we`ll all just forget this and move on to the next unlucky soul to have his life invaded by voyeurs masquerading as journalist and viewers.
